Kitten can reach the teething ring on her saucer. That means her arm/hand has gained quite some amount of strength and accuracy. Jenyi, 9/29/2001 02:00:00 AM
Kitten had nutricious milk tonight. I mean, we went to restaurant that has all you can eat lobster, shrimp, fish,... cakes, stuffs like these. Thanks to Joyce's treat. Jenyi, 9/29/2001 01:58:00 AM
Kitten in the box --
Can't wait for the repair kit because Kitten need to exercise to have better sleep at night. We bought a new jumper for her. After setting up, Joyce put a paper box under neath with a sound toy inside. Baby Kitten stompt it happily. "Looks as if she's stomping cockroach." Daddy said. Jenyi, 9/20/2001 12:35:00 AM

Broken JumperII --
On Fisher-Price's recall page....
...The spring that suspends the jumper seat from the doorway can break. Babies can fall to the ground and suffer serious injuries...Fisher-Price has received 80 reports of the springs breaking. Twenty babies have been injured. The injuries include nine lacerations to the head, five of which required stitches or staples, a dislocated tailbone, a black eye and bumps, bruises and scrapes...The Hop, Skip, Jumpers were sold by mass merchandise, juvenile products and discount stores from January 1987 through January 1994 for about $40. Consumers should stop using the jumpers immediately. Fisher-Price will provide a free repair kit with a new suspension strap, to support the jumper seat if the spring breaks. The repair can be done quickly and easily in the home....Consumers should call Fisher-Price toll-free at 1-888-821-0077 anytime to order a free repair kit for the Hop, Skip, Jumper.
1. Thank god Kitten was not hurt.
2. I called the toll-free this morning. Jenyi, 9/19/2001 11:36:00 AM
Pacifier --
Ok, this is another long story. To begin with, I have no special preference for this little thingy for sucking and the reason is simple - it blocks the major portion of the baby's face. Think of the smiles that are hidden behind the pacifer, I just hate to miss that.
However, I would not want to see use the self-helping pacifier, her finger. I have witnessed how difficult it could be to quit finger sucking, therefore, using pacifier became the best (and only) option.
Kitten hasn't form a strong habit of finger sucking yet, although she tends to point her fingers toward her mouth often. A month ago, I gave her a pacifier and she accept it happily and easily, for 2 days. Although her interest in the pacifier wained then, she didn't seem to like sucking her thumbs that often. "Maybe it's teething, maybe it's just a transitional matter, or maybe she's just exploring." I think. Soon I drop this matter off my mind.
Recently, she seems to have the craving for sucking again. She likes to nurse to sleep and will ask for another one an hour after. It's just the kind of nursing that you know it's not just for easing her hunger. However, I am slow enough to think of the forgotten pacifier since this has been going on for weeks. Again, I took the pacifier from the shelf, wash it, and gave it to Kitten -- she accept it again.
Tonight, she goes to bed with her pacifier at about 1 and hasn't woke up yet. Well, we'll see. :-) Jenyi, 9/19/2001 01:34:00 AM
Her legs are getting strong and she jumps really hard. But I don't think this should happen. All in a sudden, I heard a breaking sound and she knee down to the ground. Fourtunately enough, she was not hurt.
As shown in the picture, the head of the spring is broken. Is that because this product is not strong enough? Strangely enough, we are actually thinking of buying another one because Kitten likes it a lot. She jumps and turns and we also play games with her when she's hanging there. Hum, I think I will call Fisher Prise tomorrow and see what they are going to say, or, we'll go for a different one. Jenyi, 9/19/2001 12:00:00 AM
At Linda's --
After having dinner at a Cambodian restaurant, we went to Linda's place for Majong. Kitten daddy won 3 dollars. "You have money for milk now." Linda said.
Morning Kitten --
The first hour after she gets up is the sweetest time in the whole day. No matter what she does, she smiles big time. Jenyi, 9/14/2001 12:50:00 AM
Calming kitten --
To calm down fussy kitten, simply have her sit on the lap and clap her feet. THis is discovered by kitten daddy. Jenyi, 9/13/2001 12:48:00 AM
Baby Cookie --
Mary gave me a box of baby cookie after her trip back from Montreal. I tried a bit the other day and she seemed to like it. This time, Joyce helped me taped it. The background voice is from Mary and Joyce. Also, Kitten's cookie sucking sound was also taped. :-) Jenyi, 9/13/2001 12:06:00 AM

Play --
Oliver (Dong Done) nicely played with Kitten this afternoon. This clip is not as clear, but 700k, more compact for a 25 sec clip.
Rattles --
She has quite a few and these are 2 of them. Some people say that parents buy toys for their children because they love playing with them, too. I guess I am one of them. Jenyi, 9/10/2001 01:46:00 AM
New Discovery --
Soon after finding about her fists and fingers, now kitten also senses the existance of her feet and seems to have pretty good fun with it. Jenyi, 9/10/2001 12:50:00 AM
New taste clip --
Ok, I just used a newer version of video studio to dubb this clip, but it look nicer, at least not so fast as the previous one. 1.3 MB. Jenyi, 9/09/2001 11:45:00 PM
Tasting(You need windows media player to viewo this clip) --
Baby kitten puts whatever she can handle into her little mouth. That's her way of exploring the world.
I still have a bit problem with getting video clip from my DV. For example, this clip should be 30 sec long but was shrinked to 21 sec in the puter. Therefore, everything looks in really fast motion which not real. Jenyi, 9/08/2001 01:30:00 AM
Crib Toys --
A five-month-old baby still like these crib toys a lot, which gives me about 10 to 15 minutes to have my morning cleaning and breakfast (just a cup of milk though). Jenyi, 9/05/2001 12:37:00 PM
Moms --
This picture was taken a month ago when Carolyn was a month old. We three new moms (well, Mary's is les than 3 weeks) got together and had lunch. Now this should be a historical picture because Stella has moved to Ottawa. Looks like we may only get monthly update of our niece kitten. Jenyi, 9/03/2001 11:20:00 AM
Kitten in the mirror --
This picture was taken in mid July when she is about 3 and half months old. At this time, looking at her self reflection was one thing while lying on her timmy was another that can trigger a big smile from her. This picture just demos a one plus one situation. Jenyi, 9/01/2001 11:38:00 PM
Grab and Shake --
Now she can grab rattle firmly and shake it well. Therefore, she can sit in the saucer and play toys all around her for a good long period. Jenyi, 9/01/2001 01:51:00 AM
