It's been snowing like crazy since X'mas day. Still, Kitten dada took us to the mall for a walk these 2 days. As usual, Kitten enjoyed look around on the Loblaw shopping cart and I was busy cleaning her face.

It was discovered by aunty Stella during our Boxing day shopping at the Bay. "Is that the reason why she has fever?" I wonder. Her fever starts at the midnight of 25th, and my my first thought was it must be the flu. Later I phoned Mary, and she told me that some babies have diarrhea, some have running noses and others have a fever. Well, with this cold, Kitten seems to pick up all three symptoms. So confusing. However, her teething is still a breaking news, a good one.
A final note, both of our flu are getting worse. Now I guess we need 2 weeks to get out of this. Bummer.

Before the downtown library close for holiday, I went there yesterday morning and borrowed some board books for Kitten. In the photo is a book that Kitten likes the most. I think it's a cleaver design to put a hole in the book. Kitten like to explore the hole with her finger. All I have to do is turn to different pages that have different kind of faces.

Kitten's got running nose again yesterday. It seems that the cold that she had wasn't really cleared over the weekend but restarting. What's worse, I am having a sore throat since last Saturday. It's bad that you had colds during the holiday season that you have to stay indoor most of the time while others are out there doing holiday shopping. Now I know what I should wish for Xmas.

For the first time in her life, Kitten sat on a high chair in good mood through dinner.
Dining out has been not-so-easy for us. When Kitten was little, we normally has to carry her while having our meal. If she became fuzzy, we would have to taking turn cuddling her. In this case, whatever we had usually became tasteless. The only chance we could have for finishing one meal was when Kitten fell asleep, which also became difficult after she grew out of her carseat because one of would have to hold her while eating. But today when we were in Lone Star, Kitten simple played with her cracker packs and lid of our tortilla box. Later, she started eating crackers, finished 2 pieces and swept another 2 to the floor. By the time when we finished our dinner, she was playing chips. Therefore, we three went home satisfied and full.

Our cave life ends with the returning of our family car. Also, I finally remember to bring my cam with me to the supermarket. Kitten has been able to sit in the shopping cart for more than a month. Plus, I like the way she look in there.

A regular day

Dada gave kitten a beautiful morning kiss.
Kitten can stay in Play pen for longer time now since she can sit and crawl by herself. Sometimes, she can even pull herself up and just hang on the side of the playpen. In addition, she also spend more time playing the toys.
This evening, Kitten went to bed around 8:30. Although she has woke up twice since then, compare with the time in our past history of sleeping, this is still delightful.

Since last night, kitten has resume her appetite for cereal and fruit/veggie paste. Although she still have running nose, we seldom hear her sneezing or coughing. Again, we believe she's getting well.
Speaking of sneezing, we found that kitten hates being wipe on her nose, and this actually started since her second cold . Unfortunately, her nostrils become dirty very easily that I have to use Kleenex sweep over her nose very fast. Mary told me the same thing about her daughter but said this never occurred to her son. She thinks that's because girls are more sensitive and fragile while boys just don't care. But what about other babies?

Kitten said "mama". Well, she said that before, only when she's crying and that sound don't even happen often. But tonight, she utter it while crawling toward me on the bed. Although I think she still have no idea what that mean, I guess she has add this sound in her normal happy vocabulary. After gaaa, dada, lala, kiki (blowing air between her gum), I am glad that mama is joining in.
Another good thing, kitten start taking cereal and fruit paste for dinner again, maybe it's a sign of recovery. :-)

Poor kitten is still having a cold and we had another home-staying day, which make me finished a HP book. I must admit it's really facinating and I can hardly kept my eye off it. I think I will read it to Kitten when she grow older, in both Chinese and English edition.
Mary's back from Vancouver, both her son and daughter are having running noses and coughing. "It's so common in this season." She told me.
Comment: a cold cannot stop Kitten from crawling around and studying new thing. :-)

Kitten is rejecting cereal the whole day. She would only take a couple of spoon and then sealed her mouth tightly. Whats more, she didn't want to have fruit and veggie paste, either. Other then few tiny pieces of tofu and few sip of miso soup, she only took breast milk. Dada and I thought that Kitten might have sore throat that it made her uncomfortable wile having solids.

And sneezes and coughs, just like yesterday. Therefore, we stayed at home all day today. It looks like this is the slightest cold we have this time, but it is still difficult for kitten to breathe during breast feeding. Now dada is trying to rock her to sleep.

4 days after kitten's first sit up, she has already able to do that with ease that I do not count how many times she did that in a day. Plus, she's getting better in crawling, too. For the past few days, kitten kept practicing these actions whenever possible. They day of having a all-over-the-house kitten is getting near.

A day with Linda(s)

We visited Linda's place this morning, had a nice lunch in a Chinese buffet restaurant, and walked around Cateraqui town center (where we also met another aunty Linda). It was a lot of fun. It was so hard to find a parking space near the entrance of the mall cos lot of people were there this afternoon for holiday shopping. There was also a long line of babies and parents waiting for taking pictures with Santa, which made me felt lucky that we have already had it the other day. Plus, the basic fee here for having a 5x7 photo is 9 dollars.

I know, I stayed up again, but I just can't help it because I got kitten sitting up on video!
This clip is 1.24 MB and 45 seconds long in wmv format. In the first 10 seconds, you can see kitten sitting up. However, this is one success after many hard works. After that, both of us were really happy. I yayed, and she screamed.

Kitten is pulling her self up! I saw that once last night and dada saw it this evening! Although it looks like she did that by luck, I think she will gradually master it.
Also, I notice that her appetite grows, too. We had miso soup this noon and she finishes a small bowl. An hour after that, she also finished her regular cereal plus veggie lunch. Good kitty.

After returning from SA, Kitten starts going to bed around 10:00. Like today, she went to bed at 9:30. However, she still wakes up 30 minutes after the sleep. For two nights, I have stayed in the dark room with her and let her roll about beside me. I tried not to bring her out to the bring room thus her sleeping time won't be extend to the midnight. So far it seems that it works ok and kitten can really fall asleep after rolling for 40 minutes or so. Funny thing is that sometimes I fall asleep earlier than kitten. :-)
