Busy day

Morning:home play
Afternoon: visit James, picking up our family car
Evening: visiting Linda
Night: Mary visits
Midnight: Cleaning time
Special thing: Kitten ate a lot tonight. She finished 4/5 of her noodle, and a good portion of my tomato veggie soup.
Update: Then she had a really huge (above #4 pampers) poop the next morning. (Dada was right, whatever she had will turn out there).

Still cold Monday

We went out, yes, but not to the splasher time. Without a car and seeing Kitten coughing in such a cold weather, instead, we went to Mary's place for lunch.

Cold Sunday
--
We did not go out at all, even to the lobby. Still, Kitten and I had lots of indoor play to do. At the end of the day, our living room has already in a mess. Then I decided to order my favorite pizza with anchovies, mushroom and onions. If not that I had a cold, today would be perfect.

We are not going to NY

At the last minute. We concerned that the 8 hours of driving may be too much for Kitten. So mama and Kitten decided to stay home and dada will see the big apple for us. Later in the evening, Mary kindly invited us for yummy Chicken noodle for dinner. Well, there're still some good things staying at home. We'll resume our daily activities after our family car is fixed on Tuesday.

Going home
--
It's time to join dada in Kingston. So we packed up and took the first afternoon bus back. On the bus, Kitten spent the first hours eating and playing with cookies. After we passed Smith Fall, both Kitten and I fell asleep. After we woke up by the movement of bus turning, we were getting off highway and entering Kingston. We both miss dada a lot.

Fun day 3
--
Today was a stay-at-home day, but we still had a good time. Kittens often tag along each other, especially when eating. Kitten started poking or pushing Caroline when she did not want her food, toy or mom shared.

we went to Speedy the auto shop in the morning, had bagal sandwish at noon, then went to Costco and Chinatown in the afternoon. Kittens had 2 naps and moms were exhausted.

We went to a big play group in the After lunch,mama and aunty went to French class while Kittens stayed with childcare provided by the school.

Sitting in the car seat
--
Kitten stayed in the cat seat all the way to Ottawa!

She spent her first 30 minutes having French fries, rice cookies, and juice. After that, she started get a bit fuzzy and felt the constraint of her seatbelts. So, mama started to talk and act silly to distract Kitten. After talking, tickling and doing many tricks, mama finally found one thing that can keep kitten calm -- singing! Then time for a lot of singing began. Sometimes when mama stopped singing and turned to talk to dada, Kitten would started fuzz about so mama has to turn back to Kitten and sing again. Finally, before mama's throat felt really sore, Kitten held mama's finger and fell asleep. We had only 40 minutes left to Ottawa.

Now, the thing is, it will take about 8 hours to drive to New York and we have 4 other people in the van. What are we going to do then?

Going to Ottawa

Eventually, we did not go to splasher time for the following 2 reasons: 1. Our car is broken. 2. we have wet snow today. Therefore, our morning activity was replaced by a visit to the muffler store. Unfortunately, we were told that the whole ignition part was broken and has to be replaced. What's more, whether we choose a new or used part, we must wait till tomorrow to get our new car back. So, for our trip to Ottawa today, we will rent a car.

Out of the flu

Kitten's running nose is gone. However, she still coughs and I can still hear rattling sound from her throat sometimes. I believe in a few days, she can completely get rid of the flu. However, since we have already missed one swimming lesson last week, shall we go to the splasher time in YMCA tomorrow?

The last Tylenol she has was around 10:40 this morning. Till now, the highest temperature we had was 37.8. I think her fever is gone now. Gee, these days are difficult.

I took Kitten to after hour clinic in the evening after our family dinner in Swiss Sharlet. After examination, the doctor told me not to worry, especially when Kitten still looked pretty happy most of the time. As to her fever, we should still keep observing till Sunday. For Kitten bite on my nipple, I got a prescription of antibiotic cream.

Mother goose
--
We went to a mother goose program at Childbirth Kingston this morning. It's a program consists of songs, rhymes and story time. Besides, there are snacks provided during the break. Therefore, although it is a little bit far, but it worth drving.

HOT
--
It seems that spring was skipped in Kingston. Although trees are still bare, it is already very hot indoor in the afternoon. I am afraid that we may have to install the air conditioner soon or we will have to hid elsewhere.

One strange thing this afternoon, after napping. I suddently sensed that Kitten was hot, then after taking her temperature, I learned that she's having a fever again. Is this because it was too hot indoor? Or it's because Kitten's flu was going bad? Or the Vaccine she had a week ago was working? Whatever it is, I gave Kitten Tylonal again and changed a lighter clothes for her. Hope she gets better tomorrow.

Mom and dad's first night out without Kitten

Erin's friend, Beth, kindly babysitting Kitten, Oliver and Grace (the later two were actually ready for bed) while we four went to Lone Star for dinner. According to Beth, Kitten had a bit of milk (not a big fan of it), finished her grape and fell asleep before 9 o'clock. As to me and dada, oh well, we had a lot of eating, drinking and talking. To my relief, Jessie is more independent than I thought. As we went back to Erin's, Kitten has already sound asleep on the sofa and remained sleeping after I brought downstairs and out her back to her own bed.

Kitten Live!! You've got mail

This afternoon, I borrowed three new toys from the toy library on Bagot street, one busy gear, one piano and one house. Obviously I made pretty good choice this time. Kitten loves playing all three toys. Especially the house, she likes playing with the mail box, inserting plastic mails into it.

Beanie cat
--


This morning, Kitten took a beanie cat from a little boy named Ravi in the library program. She held the cat tightly in her arm and meowed. "It's time to buy a beanie cat for Kitten instead of having her calling those bunnies miao", I think. Later in the afternoon, Kitten got a brown beanie cat from Kingston Center and meowed all the way to Herbies the supermarket.

Busy Tuesday
--
We went to Wonderful ones in Central Library this morning. Since this is a program for walkers, I was a bit concern if it is suitable for Kitten. Luckily, the design of this program is similar to Books for Babies. It has books reading, songs and dances. In addition, most of the toddlers in this program are not much older than Kitten. When everyone stood up and walk, I would let Kitten hold my hands and tried to walk a little bit. Otherwise, I would just hold Kitten in my arm and walk. So, I think I come to the right program. One interesting thing I noticed is that there was a lot of eating and drinking during the program. Kitten finished 3/4 packs of rice cookie and one cup of minigo. Next time, I should bring a little bit more food so that we can share or exchange with others.

No swimming class

We switched today's lesson to Saturday at 11:00 a.m.. Hopefully Kitten can feel better then.

Since we didn't go swimming, we visited Mary, dondon and yoyo instead and had them visited us later in the afternoon. It was really good to have company around even when we were grounded.

Kitten's first roll. She did it while I was folding clothes. Now all the papers were reorganized and placed in a cupboard box as cleaning papers for kitten's meals on the floor.

Rough night
--
Kitten coughed and woke up a lot last night. Around 4 o'clock, I decide to breastfeed her an hour than usual. Unfortunately, soon she vomited all she drank with coughing, then she cried for nearly an hour. I guess she must felt frustrated and uncomfortable. Finally, I decided to feed her again and let her sleep while breastfeeding. Therefore, she came to my breast on and off till 9 in the morning. We both were very tired.

Kitten Walks! + Live 1 & 2

As I pulled Kitten around. Dada asked "Why not give her the walker." After having the walker, she started to pull it around. Although she still could not control her direction well, she certainly had a great time walking about. I was so excited that took out our family digicam and camcorder to record this new milestone after Kitten's reaching one year old.

Kitten coughs

Another news of the day is that Kitten caughs a lot in the evening. In addition, she cannot eat solids well, even her favoriate tofu - she just spits it out. I start to worry now,

No fever

Fever, again
--
It started around 8:30 this morning when I woke up. Kitten has already woke up for a while and kept coming back to me. It was unusual because she can play by herself longer than that. I held her up and felt that she was a bit hot so I took her temperature. It was 38.5. I am not quite sure if she had a cold again (because I did not dress her much last night) or it was because of the shot she had two days ago. Later I gave her Tylenol again and phone Mary and Telehealth Ontario when she was sleeping. They both suggested to me that this fever could because the vaccination was taking effect. Solution? Lots of fluid, reduce activity (all her outdoor activities were cancelled) and more Tylenol when needed. Until now, she has had 3 and is sleeping. She will be under observation for another 36 hours before we take any further actions.

Visiting Ross

We visited Kitten's family doctor for 1-year-old check up and shot. Ross is also the one who helped mama bring Kitten to this world. Thanks to Ross. :-)

Little Splasher
--
We went to YMCA this morning for splashing time. Both Kitten and I put on our swimming suit (how I wish someone could be there taking pictures of kitten in swimming suit!) and joined other moms and babies in the pool. We played toys and sang songs. Kitten did a lot of kicks in the water and enjoyed splashes a lot. Although we were 10 minutes late, Elisabeth was very kind to let us stay for another 15 minutes after session and chat with another 2 moms. It was really really fun, just like joining another playgroup, but in the water,

No portrait

We went to Wal-Mart today to get a waterproof diaper for tomorrow's splash time. I also took Kitten to the portrait studio inside of Wal-Mart to have a I-am-a-year-old picture. Our photographer used almost all the toys in her drawer but only got Kitten smiled twice. Unfortunately, I deleted the first nice smile and was not satisfied with the second one. After 30 minutes of trying, Kitten started yawning and wanted to crawl about instead of posing. Since the chance of getting her smile was not good. We thanked the photographer, Shannon, and continued shopping before the store closed.

Changing diaper
--


Ever since Kitten can crawl about, changing diaper has become a huge task. In the early days, Kitten could be easily attracted by a small toy at hand such as a wind up toy. Now she would not even stay still when she was put down that I have to chase her with a diaper in one hand and wipes in the other. Until last weekend, Stella told us that use TV and that worked pretty well for Caroline. Now we've tried it a few times on Jessie and it works like a immediate charm. So, I decide to save my daily recorded Teletubbies for diaper time.

New things + Kitten Live

Kitten fninished her lunch on the high chair (thanks to the tip from Stella). Also, see how kitten finished her first bow of chicken pasta on Kitten Live.


Kitten finished 90% of milk from her cup. Later in the afternoon, we bought 4L of milk from cosco. Now mama and Kitten have lots of milk to drink.

Miao
--


Miao is my user name in Achieve. It is also the name of my cat in Taichung. When I was in Taiwan in February, Kitten was fascinated by her long white hair and wanted to touch it whenever she saw her. After returning to our home Canada, she recognized the white stuffed bunny as her beloved cat. She would meow to it can call it meow-mee. When we ask her, 'where is miao?', she would picked the bunny among a pile of stuffed animals. Dada and I decide that we should take her to pet store often or visit friends who have cats.
