stopping breastmilk

We thought it's time for Kitten to be on her own. Last night, we started putting Kitten and dada in the same room and mama goes to the other bed room. Throughout the night, Kitten woke up a few times, but she was calm back to sleep either with her milk cup or patting. Later, Kitten woke up happily at 8 in the morning. Poor dada was exhausted and kept sleeping. Dada did a good job.

Every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Queen's gym. We had so much fun this evening. For me, this is my first time being able to swim.float freely again since I have dada watching and playing with Kitten around. After swimming, we had two big bowls of beef noodles and a dish of veggie, just like what we always did before. Gee, I want to go again next and I want to buy a floaty ring/boat for Kitten to play with there!

It is not hot and humid any more. Besides, 80% of Kitten's diaper rash has gone. We played around our place for quite a long time after supper from Lone Star.

When it comes as a single word with loud voice. It means 'lift me up'. Kitten has been saying that for a weeks. She also raise both of her arms high to stress her need of being held.

It came with the rash from Roseola and bothers Kitten a lot. She cries after pooping and during diaper change. So I decide to wash her instead of using wipes. I also apply some diaper rash cream on the red area. Hope Kitten can feel better tomorrow.

We are almost certain now that Kitten's got Rosiola. A contagious disease that will result in days of high fever and end up with rash. Now that the rash has come, Kitten is getting close to full recovery. What a week.

No fever

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~ The fever is gone! To celebrate, Kitten and I went to Confederation park in front of City hall.

Kitten fever

Reason: unknown. Some sort of virus. Update: still unknown, although the fever's gone.
Starting time: Tuesday morning. Since then, Kitten was glued with me whenever she's awake for 3 days.
Symptoms: high fever. Every 4 hours, her temperature would climb up to 39 something and was very very difficult to bring down after having suppository Tylenol. I could feel how hot she was especially while breastfeeding.
Telehealth Ontario: I called quite a few times because Kitten's temperature stays around 38 degrees and would jump up to 39 or 40 with in 4 hours. The nurse there suggest me to add dosage because the amount that I gave to Kitten might not be enough, judging by her weight.
Hospital visits:Twice. One to after-hour clinic and the other to family doctor. Both consider Kitten's condition is good with no ear infections.

Erin give us a ride in his new truck. It was really cool. However, Kitten did not enjoy as we did because she had a long day. Instead, she just cried out loud for a couple of minutes and then fast asleep.

1:40 a.m. Kitten woke up and cried sadly for nearly 10 minutes. Dada open the door and came in.
Dada: Does she want some milk?
Upon hearing the keyword 'milk', Kitten turned around, sat up and start saying "ne ne, ne ne"
So dada went out and fetch kitten a cup of warm milk, then she drank most of it.
Gee, Kitten has started talking in 3 languages. Wawa is Chinese, nono is English, and ne ne is Taiwanese.

Kitten understands more and more what we are saying now and will repeat after us. For example, we tell her 'wai wai' before going outside and then she would repeat 'wa wa'. When she picks up small stones in the playground and attemps to put that into her mouth, we will say 'no no'. Then, she will stop and then say 'nono' plus shakes her head. Some of our neighbor kids like her very much, they always gives her hugs and gentle touch on her face whenever they meet her. She's so cute.

Dada goes to Carleton and we stay with Caroline. Gee, they both has become more and more fun. They talk with each other, craw/walk after each other. A funny scene is, Caroline would hold on to Kitten seeing her standing up. Feeling trapped and pulling downward, kitten would then start whining. Wait until Caroline can walk, I think, and they will have more fun.

Kitten has her own kitten language which was called alien tongue by Dada. Recently, we've started to master a bit of her coding system. Ba-be-chi is an example. She would say this word and point to some thing above, something that she probably wants. She started saying this since we brought the blue balloon home. When the balloon fly up to the ceiling, she would say ba-be-chi and points to the balloon. Then I would have to fetch it and bring the string to her hand.

Kitten got her own baby stroller today. I got that from Garage sale. The funny thing is that Kitten wouldn't push it when a baby doll is inside of it. After her pet ty cat joined in, she strolled it happily.

Me. It started about 4 to 5 days ago and started with sore throat. Strangely, I have never had a cold this often before having Jessie. Normally, it would be about one or two flu infection each year. But now, the frequency has increased to a incredibly monthly basis. Does giving birth to Jessie that matter? Maybe a bit. But fewer rest/sleep is probably another reason. It looks like I really have save some time for myself, just for sleeping.

Driving to Waterloo

It takes approximately 4 hours to drive from Kingston to Waterloo and this is the longest drive that Kitten's ever had. For this trip, we brought several nursery rhyme CDs, including one Teletubbies CD. In addition, we brought some push button toys and Kitten's fav pet Ty cat. We also prepared Kitten cookies and drinks (milk & water). So, how was our trip?
Excellent! Kitten had naps, snacks and watched pet cats show performed by mama. As soon as she shows signs of crankiness, we load one CD and she could be calmed down. On both rides, we stopped by one buffet restaurant for dinner and Kitten also had chance to have crackers and fruits. There was only one time she cried a little bit long and that occurred near the end of our returning trip when Kitten had difficulties falling asleep (because she had a bit too much tiny naps). Eventually, she was calm down by some juice and again, music.
All in all, driving with Kitten this time was quite pleasant and fun. I think we have a clue what to prepare for our trip to Boston. :-)

Dada took us to Waterloo because he had second interview there. This time, Kitten and I visited Waterloo Park, friends and a big outlet mall while dada was busy at school. We met a lot of children around Kitten's age in Waterloo Park. They all came to visit the animals there and played the gaming facilities. Kitten was really excited seeing turkeys, rabbits, deer and lamas. If we move to Waterloo this fall, I believe we will come here very often.

A Balloon
