K2 Blog:39 Weeks
--
Judging from internal exam, Dr. Halmo said that there's probably a couples of weeks of wait time for K2. "You'll still have big chance to have a February baby." He said. However, since this early evening, I started feeling more tense contractions around my lower abdomen. Now I'll just see if they come on regular basis. I just have a feeling that I may go to the hospital tonight or tomorrow morning. If not, I will write another post tomorrow. Well, whether it's tonight or not, Dada, Kitten and I have taken some family pictures with grandma's help after dinner. Besides, I will start packing right after this. Wish me luck.

Pictures?
--
Why didn't I post any picture recently? Because I accidently spoiled some juice on Dada's laptop and disfunction some keys, it was brought back to its manufacturer for further inspection. We do have some nice pictures, but I am afraid they must wait until the laptop get back.

I visited Dr. Halmo for my first weekly check yesterday. As usual, everything looks fine. Before I left, he gave me the record of my visits, "So that you can hand this in once you are in labor." Looks like I am entering a "ready" for anytime delivery now. Therefore, if you find babyblog doesn't update after a week, you'll know probably where I am. :)

Books
--
I bought tons of books recently. Some are brand new and most are used. My original intention was to prepare some books for Kitten since making a trip to the library is a little bit difficult for me recently. Seeing boxes of books delivered to our house made me feel excited but a bit worried if I am buying too much. After all, I am neither home schooling nor baby sitting others. However, after one week, I believed that I did a right thing.
These books are placed mainly in 3 spots, the play room, the kitchen and the bedroom. Books in the playroom are simple new addition to others that we've already have, but they do attract Kitten to the table or to my side on the reclining chair. Books in the kitchen, I would say are the best addition to the pots and pans because now Kitten spend a whole lot of time reading here, for example, in the morning when I read the newspaper. In the afternoon while I am preparing supper. And after dinner we just sit on the floor and read together. Finally, books in the bedroom, a great spot, too. I would say. There's a couple of books that we would go over and over everyday without getting bored. Besides, reading is a really activity before bedtime. After finishing reading, I will announce bedtime and Kitten will put books back to the shelf. Then, before we go bed hand in hand Kitten will assist me turning off lights.
To sum up in three words, books are great. :-)

K2 blog: 37 weeks

Everything's fine. Dr. Halmo reassured me this morning. K2's back is still resting on the right side and any increasing discomfort on the back or tummy is normal. We'll see each other again next week. :-)

Pre-sentence Stage
--
Started about 2 weeks ago. Kitten's word sometimes refer to some objects or events that is carrying on. A classic/everyday example is, after receiving a spoon of yogurt, she will run to dada and say "mama", meaning mama gave her that. At this time, dada has (yes, Kitten insists) to to say " Oh, mama gave you yogurt " so that Kitten is sure that her words are understood and run back to me again.
Note : As to her vocab development, she can say lots of two-words, name most of her body parts.
Kitten's favorite activity is to look for baloons, balls, snails and worms from her board books.

Dialogue
--
(In Chinese)
Kitten: Jessie
Mama: ... (Listening)
Kitten: Sleep
Mama: Get up?
Kitten: No.
Context: We just woke up from our nap and Kitten was pretending to go back to sleep. In the dialogue, she tried to tell me what she was doing and later reject my suggestion of getting up.
It was really cool to have our first "conversation" with Kitten at this stage. A very nice experience.
