Bye bye grandma
--
After staying here for six weeks. My mom and my sister has to go back to their home in Taiwan. They have been really really helpful here, especially my mom. Kitten learned a lot of sonngs and words amd start talking in short sentences. And me, I just had the best time ever during these weeks. In fact, I was quite sad seeing them go yesterday and miss them a lot. Thanks a million to mom and I hope we can meet again soon.

Spring Guest
--
They've been patrolling the neighborhood about a week. Kitten always becomes very excited and shouts "ya ya! ya ya" whenever she spots them in the backyard.

Talkative Kitten
--
Kitten's language ability has been progressing steadily, especially after spending time playing with grandma and aunty in the past 5 weeks. Here are a few samples of sentences she can say.
::Mama kan bao-tze (mama reads newspaper).
::Didi tu nene (little brother spits milk).
::Shessi chi dodo (Jessie eats beans).
Sometimes she likes to put verbs (e.g. eat, look, reads) at the end of the sentences. Especially when she is try to form sentences that she doesn't say quite often. That I often make me think of some languages that has the same feature, such as Japanese and Turkish. For Toddler like Kitten, I guess their language learning system is open to not only various of sound but also very very flexible sentence structure. Then gradually, shaping what they are speaking closer and closer to what they hear in the world around them.

Growing Tigger
--
Tigger's looking bigger now and his awake time in the daytime is getting longer, too. The only thing hasn't changed is his feeding time. Still every 3 hours in average. That's the thing that can keep him growing big and fast like this. :-)

Owch, needle!
--
Tigger's pretty sensitive to needle. He cried out loud as soon as the needle entered his body. On the contrary, Kitten did not make any fuss during the process of getting needles. They are surely different.

Sleeping on the back
--
The same as Kitten, Tigger doesn't sleep too well on the flat bad. Instead, he would sleep much better in a curved seat such as the swing, his car seat and little rocking seat shown in the picture (I have already lift the other side of the seat up to make the surface less tilted). On two conditions can he sleep better on the flat bed: 1. When he's really sound asleep. 2. When he's in the same bed with me and can be nursed on demand. I am planning to ask Dada to assemble Kitten's crib so that I can bring Tigger's small bed downstairs so that he has more chance to get used to sleep on a flat place.

Problem Solving
--
Dada told me this yesterday:
"Last night after we took a bath, Kitten tried to take three things downstairs: her dirty diaper, her blink shoes and her sipping cup. After trying to taking all of them in both hands for a few times, she found it not possible to bring them all. Therefore, she put down everything and sit down, took both shoes, put them on and buckled up one by one. Then, with diaper in one hand and cup in the other. She came down stairs with me."
There're two parts that I love the most about this story:
1. Kitten is smarter than we think.
2. It's really great to hear dada sharing his childcare stories. You know he cares, he participates and he share's the surprises and fun and of course, sometimes a bit stress and anger, too. :-)

The Baby Blue
--
Also known as Postpartum blue. Some said it's due to rapid change of hormone after giving birth. Basically, it's a situation that nobody likes. It makes a new mom feels sensitive, irritable and sometimes even worse, depressed. For me, it can basically be sum up as two moody weeks plus some sleepless time and a bit of nightmares. Also, my brain doesn't function too well during these two weeks (and is still gradually recovering). For other family members, it is just like having a small hurricane around because almost none of the things they did looked right in my eyes. Though I worn them about this before Tigger's birth, I guess it was still not so easy for everybody. However, this time I think I am doing better than last one because I am more experienced with a new born. Besides, I was mentally prepared of what's going to happen with my head. Of course, tolerance from everyone else under the roof also helped a lot. Therefore, I thank them with this post.

Grandma and Kitten

Thanks to grandma that I can concentrate on taking care of Tigger. With grandma around, Kitten has a big playmate and only occasionally seeking for mama.

Growing sprout
--
Tigger has been awake every 2 hour and less, which was a bit tiring for me because I have no time for a short nap. Usually, when he's awake, we will have to go through a routine that includes nurse, burp, diaper change, nurse and burp which takes 45 minute in average (then, imagine this will happen in another one hour). This situation, according to a breastfeeding booklet, is because Tigger is undergoing a stage of rapid growth that require increased amount of milk supply. Therefore, as soon as my milk supply reaches his demand, soon he will resume a longer sleeping period. Hope this happens soon.

Flu
--
After playing with Ja-chi, Kitten got her flu right next day. Now she's been sneezing and coughing for 3 days. To prevent Tigger from having this cold, which I heard has sent a few new borns to ER, I have to keep Tigger in his own room upstair and have grandma play with Kitten most of the time. I hope this flu can leave us soon.

Growing Kitten
--
During the week before and after Tigger was born. Kitten has physically grown up quite a bit. It was so obvious that those who hasn't seen her during these days said that she grew up. In fact, even us, I mean, we spent every day with her, can felt her growth. So now not only she looks bigger but appetite also changes a bit. Althought she's still a bit picky, but she's willing to eat a wilder range of food, such as, brocolli, pizza, more green veggie. These are the thing that she won't even taste a bit but play mostly before. As to her reaction to Tigger, she's been a wonderful big sister. She shows no sign of envy when I hold and nurse Tigger, which I worried the most before. In additon, she lover to come forward to watch and touch her little brother. With a little guildance, we three can share a space together happily. Good Kitten. :-)
