Since we still need place for Kitten to play and meet people. I returned to Our Place in Kitchener. Now Kitten's in senior Toddler's room. However, she still cried out loud whenever I left for Tigger's room. Still, I hope she can gradually adjust to this place and learn the fact that I am not disappearing. Therefore, I think I will have to be there on WTF when it opens.

Lynda's suggestions for dealing with 2-year-old

I spoke with Lynda for a while after submitting Kitten's registion form in YMCA.
Redireting their attention.
Do not say "No, thank you." because it is confusing. Try "Stop, please" instead.
Get them prepared before your action. e.g. Tell them there's 5 minutes left before leaving the playground. Count 1-2-3 when you have to grab them home.
Use facial expression and tone to show your dislike and encouragement. Level your eye the same hight as your child's.

Kitten's first day in the daycare. She cried, of course, after I left. As I returned to pick both she and Caroline up around noon. She looked happy and told me that she just finished brushing her teeth. The teachers' reaction there assure me that it seemed ok after I leave. However, now that she learned that I am leaving for a longer while on Monday. Let's see how she reacts next time.
Note:Due to the avalibility of space, Kitten only goes to school on Monday. :-)

Sleeping ThroughSaturday, April 26, 2003

Today is the fourth day that I cut his mid of the night feeding. Like yesterday, he wakes up around 4 and cried. However, his crying only last less than 10 minutes this time. Then later, his had his morning feeding around 8, which means this time the his sleeping last about 9 hours! The funny thing is, I became the one that wakes up more often than him now just because I have already used to constant waking at night. Our sleep regulating plan will carry on to ensure Tigger (and me) can have better sleeping time.
Note: -- Apr. 29 -- He still wakes up for one feeding around 4 and go back to sleep afterward. :-)

It was sunny but windy today. Still you can find a lots of parents and kids in the park. All the bunny there were pretty well fed - you can see lots of remaining of veggies around their fence. We brought a quarter of cabbage for the rabbits and Kitten had quite some fun feeding them. "We'll go again next week." Dada promised.

To have a better working environment at home, Dada needs a better desk and chair. Therefore, we went to the Brick together and bought this set. It took Dada a whole day and some hours at night to put them together. Finally dada's student desk can retire in the basement as entainment desk.

The dance pad that dada used to have for exercise have become diaper changing pad for Kitten and Tigger. Especially Kitten, she likes to lie with her little brother when I change her diaper. Sometimes she wants to be changed, too. Most of the times she just want to snuggle with Tigger, hold him, kiss him or simple lie together.
Another thing that we do most often is gathering around Tigger's crib. Recently, Tigger starts to like watching mobile, also known as turning bears. Kitten likes to come beside Tigger's crib to join mobile watching. In addition, she is in charge of shaking all the sound making toys to provide more sight and sound stimulation for Tigger.

Sweet~
It's really exciting catching your own child's first smile with the camera, just like, or even better, than fishing. I still remember the time when I caught Kitten's first smile. I was holding the camera above her and trying to get a good angle to have her whole face fit in the picture. As I pressed the button, she started smiling at me. A smooth, calm, sweet smile. It's the smile as if she has known you for a long time; the smile that goes all over her face. You can see the little eyes, little nose and little mouth smiling. Just like the Tigger's today. Kitten loves holding tigger. Normally we will sit by the side of the sofa then I will put a pillow beside Kitten so that Tigger can get enough support. Kitten enjoy this *big sister time a lot.

With the frightful experience of dealing with Kitten's sleeping issue. I am trying to take this as the first thing to regulate in Tigger's early days. For the past two nights, I put him in the crib and let him sleep by himself. He did not cry long these 2 nights, just about 10 minutes or so. In the day time, his normally needs to be fed every 2.5 to 3 hours. This is Tigger's 7th week and in so far we seems to be on a *good/right track. Hope we are heading for more good sleeping day and nights.
