Tow-Boggan
--
I thought we will never have a chance doing this now that the snow is melting. But thanks to Aili, who invited us to go together. I still remember that we had it with Caroline and Stella last year and now they are in Tailand swimming at the beach. Well, that's the difference of northern and southern life. Anyway, back to our fun time this afternoon, both Kitten and Ja-Chi enjoyed riding sled and Tigger just crawled around on the big snowy ground. I am so glad that we had this done that I can say we really had some winter fun.

Face, arms, and legs
--
Kitten's new concepts of people. It's the first time that she dotted nose and mouth and drew arms (in addition to legs and eyes that developed a months ago ) in her picture.

The small picture on the left is mama holding a baby.

We went swimming, and I think we should do it every week
--

Aili took me there this morning. "You will never go without experiencing it yourself." SHe is right. It was a lot of fun, Kitten was very tense because she has not been in the water since her last swimming lesson in summer. We really should go back, including Dada and Tigger.

Going to Kingston
--
I was really nervous before the trip because 1. It's a 4+ hours road trip with 2 kids. 2. We have not have this sort of trip for a long time. After having Kitten and Tigger, Waterloo to Toronto seems to farer than Kingston to Toronto. (Before having any kids, going on a road trip is like a snap, what a dramatic change). For this trip, I packed and packed and packed. We had Kitten's dolls (Dara, boots, Jaguar) with in a backpack, a sticker album. For Tigger, his comfy blanky and pillow were tucked in and he also had a toy piano to play with. I even packed Dada's notebook for playing DVD just in case. Last but not the least, snacks, fruits and drinks for everyone.

Our 2 day-journey include a old friends gathering, then the rest were spent in the hotel (the whirl pool was fun) and on the road. Amazingly, we had lots and lots of fun. Highway is probably where we spend the most time together awake but it was good. Tigger was just a sweet little boy on the road and Kitten was able to play her own imagination game with her pals and carried on car rescue game with me. Honestly, I am as happy as I can be.

Mimicking
--
Jill told me this morning that Kitten has been taging M.C. around the classroom, repeating everything she said all morning yesterday. I am pretty sure that Kitten is so comfortable that her English learning channel is all clear and boosting.

Dialogue
--
Kitten and I talked a lot on our way home from EYC. Today, after reviewing what we had at school. I decided to try this question:

Mama: Is there any big bad wolf at school?
Kitten: No.
Mama: Where are the big bad wolfs?
Kitten: Thery are in the bush.
Mama: Yeah? Who told you that?
Kitten: Dada did.

Now we all know where the BBW really come from.

Tongue Switching
--
I ran into Kitten in the hall during the break. "Mommy has to go to the washroom. " I told Kitten in Chinese.

She turned over to her teacher "Mommy, ur, ..., on the washroom." She said in English.

New wall decor
--
I just spent about one hour changing Kitten's craft display in our dinning room. Saying good bye to last year's Halloween theme (I am so lame), I put up an all new Valentine's theme with lots and lots of hearts and loves. The Next thing I am going to do is to take pictures for these gluing and paintings and soon we will have photo album featuring Kitten's art work.

Growing Tigger
--

Over the past month, Tigger has been making many big steps. He can deal with the issue of separation better. He started to use his palm to point at things and make sounds like "duh". He waves upon hearing "bye bye" or "ba ba". In fact, he even says "baa" while waving sometimes. He becomes more talkative and sometimes makes me feel as if we are having a conversation. His weight doesn't change much though, maybe because of the flues he's been having, but I think that's just fine. Pretty soon he will be graduating from the infant room and join the junior toddlers in the EYC.

A busy day
--
Today is the first Monday that we spend a full day in EYC. I decided to have our lunch there but later found our home more relaxed and cozy after actually picnicked in the room beside the library.

I had a nice parent together morning followed by a parenting workshop called Nobody's Perfect in the afternoon. Basically, I think it's really great that there's such a place where you can exchange your ideas and opinions about life and parenting, whether formally or informally. Oh, especially in this cold winter days. Kitten's been making loads of crafts and is pretty fond of it. I would not have this many ideas if we do this at home although I love art and drawing. And Tigger, I think he's just has the best care without grandparents around. Me, obviously, I am very happy.

"Who do you see in this picture?" I asked.
"Two little dummies." Kitten replied.

Scissoring all the way
--

Lisa gave Kitten a present pack which included a lovely pink crayola scissor. Since then, Kitten has been busy cutting papers. She loves cutting of a small bit and calls it ice cream or fry and wants me to taste it. Now we have very many small pieces of fries around our house.

Jessie the little bun
--

We made buns together this afternoon. Seeing the dough resting and rising (in our words, sleeping and growing) in the oven, Kitten decides to give her one more name - the little bun.

New
photo album added
--

Right, I have not posted pictures a long time. Now I decide that it's about time to make up these lost memories. To start with, I made this first photo album with our pictures taken arond Christmas time.

On the tech side, the software is very easy to use and the product is satisfactory (for making albums, I have already tried a few other software). In a few days, I should have more albums ready, so stay tuned.

36 Pictures from October to December in 2003 is also added as a new album.

Speaking English II
--
Earlier this week, I spoke with Mary the language pathologist at the EYC about balancing English and Chinese. She suggest that it's important to have a strong first language foundation so that her second language (English) and third can build on it. Later in the discussion, I started to remeber my friends here who struggle to keep thier children's first language alive. For now, as Kitten started to pick up things easier at school, I think I am not going to stress English as much.
