Back to London
--
I dropped by Fairview Park Mall for a free coffee before leaving for school again this afternoon. There were lots of children accompanied by their parents going for trick for treat from store to store in the mall. Compare to the windy weather outside, it's not a bad idea having this indoor in the early afternoon. Besides, mom and dad will have chance to buy something for themselves, too. Next year, I think, I probably will bring Kitten and Tigger over, too.

I drove back to London listening the DVD of my associate teacher teaching language art, music and math periods. Maybe this can go on for a while for my trips between Waterloo and London, especially considering it a really good alternative to the songs I've listened to so many times.

To me, this language matter is frustrating enough that I so want to find ways to improve myself. In addition, the content matter is also an issue, too. Only if I can tackle these issues well can I make my performance as satisfactory as posssible.

Before that, I should finish my homework first, and try to make less errors before publishing my posts.... :p

*Mid-night note: I've gone through most of required reading for class tomorrow. Besides, I went over the recording of myself teaching Math again in order to write a critical analysis. I found it difficult to watch and listen to myself for a good 15 minutes. Again, language and content familarity...lots of space for improvement.

It's been nearly a month since I wrote my last post. I did not expect my life as a student teacher would be this busy. It's way busier than my days at teacher's college in London.

Over the past three weeks, Kitten has begun to adjust to the fact that mommy will not be around for a while. Our conversation two weeks ago went like this:

Kitten: Where are you, mommy?
Mama: I am at home, in Waterloo.
Kitten: You are in Waterloo.
Mama: That's right.
Kitten: But I am in Suzhou. I won't be able to go home now.
(it was heart breaking to hear Kitten talk this way)
Mama: Grandma loves you and takes good care of you, right?
Kitten: Just like mama.

In fact, it was shortly after that conversation we started to heard from grandma that Kitten's regress behaviors are gradually disappearing. Sometimes, she would just say to grandma "You are mama." That's her way of adjusting to her life there.

As to Tigger, he has considered grandpa as his best pal shortly after I left. Therefore, this adjustment of saparation is not as serious as Kitten. Still, we are looking for ways to get him to brush his teeth and eat more.

As I look back to my hectic three week, I thought it would probably a good thing that they are not around. Knowing that they are in good hands at least allows me to spend most of my time with my school stuffs.

This post is to grandpa and grandma. Many thanks for their help at this special time.

Esso Family Math
--
An awesome site. Any one with little ones or care about early literacy and math education should drop by. They have six-week work shop plan for children in k-1 or Gr2-5. Moreover, songs used in the workshop are free to download.

With Kitten and Tigger in mind, I joined the one-day workshop for volunteer, teacher leader and community coordinator. The whole day was pack with lots of fun activities that will definitely let children and adults have fun with math. Next January I will have chance to try it out. But before then, I do love to broadcast this wonderful site to anyone who may be interested.
